Casa de Misericordia

The ministry of Casa de Misericordia (Casa) is to support victims of domestic violence on their journey to reclaim their lives from the power and control of the abuser. Casa helps victims of domestic violence access, in a safe and sustainable way, the information, education, awareness and social and economic support they need to make informed decisions that reflect their needs and interests. Casa provides shelter; crisis hotline; information and referral; intervention and advocacy; safety planning; counseling and support groups; educational and life skills classes; and community education opportunities.

Casa’s ministry is only possible through the support of the community and organizations such as the Lamar Bruni Vergara Trust. The Lamar Bruni Vergara Trust has generously allowed Casa to expand services by providing the funding to construct the Lamar Bruni Vergara Education Center in 2004, the expansion of the shelter facility in 2009, and the annual support that provides the operating support so that Casa can continue to creatively meet the needs of victims of domestic violence in our community.
